Guoping Chen received her Ph.D. in 2022 from the University of Tokyo (advisor: Prof. Katsuhiko Ariga), focusing on carbon-based materials for electrocatalysis. As a postdoctoral researcher at Kyushu University with Prof. Junji Nakamura, her current work involves carbon defect engineering and nanostructured catalysts for electrochemical energy conversion.

“I studied two dimensional materials, bioelectrochemistry, and catalysts. My current research is investigating microbial activity for CO₂ conversion to formic acid.
